Maybelline Roadshow Part I

I went for the Maybelline interview end of April and I got the job to be one of the Maybelline girls for the roadshow. Went for briefing and all. Their aim is to teach the young ladies how to make-up, like how to enhance their beauty through the power of make-up. The whole roadshow thing is actually about 1. Maybelline Dream Team, 2. We went to HELP University College on 10th May. It was the first day and everything was in a mess. Sara (who picked me up from Kelana Jaya LRT station that day) and I couldn’t find the place. We actually went to the wrong building. We were supposingly to go to the KPD building but we went to the main building. It’s very confusing because the main building got this block A or block something la which the KPD has it as well. Then the make-up artists arrived late too. Ahh well but it was the first day anyway.

So we set up the tables, buntings (yes which are taller than us), make-up tables all that stuff together and started to distribute the flyers and also explaining what the whole Maybelline roadshow was about, get the students to be exicited and join the contests or buy the products. Sadly the students in HELP weren’t very active and friendly. Maybe because most of them were rushing to take bus to go from one building to another.

Due to the poor response in KPD, Veron and I were assigned to go over to the main building to direct traffic to the booth. I just couldn’t believe we were having such a bad luck that when we wanted to take the bus back to KPD, the rain was pouring heavily and the bus stop was like about 20 steps away from the main building’s entrance. So we thought that the bus wouldn’t come all the way to the entrance and we ran to the bus stop.

And guess what! The bus actually went in to the entrance and we missed the bus! Damn it. We had to wait for another bus who just parked there for whatever reason like I would care. Duh. Of course, we went back to KPD in one piece. Still good and all. It’s just that we did a bit of running. L0L.

I know I looked damn stone in the photo… Well, I guess that’s because I’ve been smiling too much for the day. Imagine you smile to everyone while explaining and have to do some crappy jokes to get them to buy the products or sign up the contest. I wasn’t used to that. Yet.

As you can see, we really enjoyed while we were working.

Just before we started to pack things up and left, we took our very first group photo! Well, minus Beng Han and his helper.

Let me introduce the girls! First, those in black T-shirts are the make-up artists. Second, the only one in white T-shirts but had to wear the black color buret is the MC. Third, the one who just wore the white T-shirts but not required to wear white shoes is sort of our boss la. Then the rest were the Maybelline girls.

Last photo of this entry! Make-up of the day: Yellow eyeshadow. Urgh… Don’t really like it because it actually made my eyes looked puffy like that. But the make-up artists said I have a pair of very-chinese-like eyes and they look very nice. I only know my eyes are like almond eyes. Heh. Stay tune for Part II. I promise it won’t be as long as this for every college we went.
